The Blogger Spotlight: Featuring Manessah B.

We’re back on the series, lovelies! After a couple of months without posting the spotlight, I am proud to give you another peek at a talented blogger/writer that I admire. Her strong heart won me over and I’d like to call her the “brave heart writer”.

THE SPOTLIGHT IS NOW FOCUSED ON OUR FEATURED BLOGGER:

NAME: Manessah B.

BLOG PAGE: Couch Talk, Wisdom & A cup of Joe

BLOG LINK: https://couchtalkwisdom.wordpress.com/

I have been following this blogger a few months after I started my page, I’ve seen her page grow, I’d like to think that I have been a part of her blogging journey, I am gonna claim that, ha ha. Manessah is 31 years old, she’s taking up Music Production and Sound Design. She’s single by choice, I believe that she’s enjoying that freedom. She sings, she writes music, she plays the piano and she knows how to freaking draw, how about that? Wow! Such a talented woman. She loves purple and her favourite movie is Stepbrothers.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO VISIT HER PAGE?

I initially chose Manessah’s blog page because of the genuine look of her profile, it’s lively, it’s very cool, it’s homey, I feel relaxed just by looking at the theme, everything is organised down to the last menu option, even the drawings are on point. She’s always been a very good writer, I have read most of her posts and poems, but I never really had a chance to look into her profile until two weeks ago, I am so glad I did. The experience is like entering a cozy coffee shop, the aura is beguiling, there’s a smell of positive vibe, you can just sit and contemplate while sipping literary wonders. She is a gem, I was able to talk to her yesterday and I realised that she’s not just a writer or an artist, she is a fighter, she shared a personal struggle against Ileostomy and her perspective is really astonishing, she doesn’t want her disability to define her as a person, she’s using this platform to share her wisdom, to spread positivity and hope. She is an inspiration.

MANESSAH’S COUCH AND COFFEE JOE:

To take a closer look into Manessah’s perception, I asked her a few questions.

DO YOU CARE ABOUT THE NUMBER OF FOLLOWERS YOUR PAGE HAS?

I don’t care about the number of followers, because I value quality over quantity. I’ve learned that what matters is my words are making a positive impact on people’s lives. Even if that is just 5 people, that’s a job well done for me. Not to mention, I kind of freak out imagining myself with thousands of people following me. I just try to stay focused on the content I’m delivering and let the followers come in as they are meant to come in.

IF YOU COULD WRITE A BOOK ABOUT YOURSELF, WHAT WOULD BE ITS TITLE? WHY?

I think if I had a book about myself, the title would be “Dawn”. I think of when we say “It’s always darkest before dawn”. My life has not been the easiest – near death experiences, losing so much, living with a disability and health issues… yet, I’m beginning to find the light at the end of my tunnel. Dawn is breaking through. So, I would definitely call it Dawn, simply because the sun in my life is breaking out now.

LIVING WITH THIS KIND OF DISABILITY, WHERE DO YOU GET THE STRENGTH TO STAY POSITIVE? HOW DO YOU DO IT?

My strength definitely comes from God. I try to pray and look to Him for guidance to keep me balanced. I have a beautiful support system from my parents. They’ve been with me at my best and worst. Plus, the love of strangers I meet everyday, whether in person or on the blog. They remind me that my life is worth living, that I have a purpose and that my existence matters.

“Lifelessly, I lay here.
A rare treasure wasted
in rippled loneliness” — Manessah B.
