Rancor

He ignored my plea when I implored him to stay

I cried silently

Gripping the metal of my verdict

He shuddered when I slid the chain around his neck

He didn’t say anything

He took a deep breath of aversion

His algid eyes piercing through my soul

His hands were cold just like his heart

I mourned for his death

In my hands, he bled

I took his heart out

His cruel heart, no more

    1. they might not ALL be the same? But enough of them are useless at the least, totally destructive at the worst, that you have to assume out of 100 1 might be a good person. maybe two. just my opinion. i have three boys and i think they are awesome but adult men? that’s a hard dating pool to pick from.

  1. oh, the agony of long standing resentment. Love the intensity of this and the use of figurative language. You write with such vivid, raw emotion.

      3. Aww thank you. I won’t ever get tires of it .I’ve had the writings for years but was never brave enough to share. I had read a couple to a close friend, co worker and posted aacouole on a FB page I belong in, my friends pushed me to blog them. The comments received from the FB page were unbelievable and never thought I’d help someone as such. Now I can maybe help more and others can help me with their writing.

  2. Its so… Uum.. I’m picturing the evil queen from the huntsman right now with bloody hands and a heart still thumping in her hands… Glaring or cackling.. I don’t know which fits but oh well, that’s the picture in my head. Weird right?? ๐Ÿ˜•

      1. Just that twisted part of your poem is similiar in a way to a song, Lips of ashes by Porcupine Tree, But I’m sure you wont find it. The song is tricky. ๐Ÿ™‚
